Breeding season for goats has just started, so we are taking reservations now for bottle-baby boys. New goat kids will start arriving in January and we will have them arriving until about June. Our reservations for doe kids & milking does are already full, WE ARE TAKING RESERVATIONS FOR WETHERS ONLY AT THIS TIME.
Virtually all buck kids will be sold as wethers (neutered males). Wethers picked up at 3 weeks of age are $60. If we happen to have two available under 3 weeks of age & you want 2, then they are 2 for $100. Why three weeks? This gives them one week of their dams colostrum, which is really important for their development & immune system. Then they will have two weeks to make sure they are doing well on milk replacer before they go to their new homes. They will need to be bottle fed until they are at least 8 week old, 12 weeks is better. This gives the new owner plenty of time to bottle feed, too, so the kids will bond well with you. It makes them much more people friendly & easier to handle in the long term. Wethers picked up after three weeks are $100 each, or 2 for $165.
